A Bathsheba’s Wedding ceilidh marries exciting traditional tunes from every corner of the UK and Ireland with a popular selection of lively yet uncomplicated social dances from all around the British Isles. So whether it’s a Step – Hop from Dorset, Ireland’s Bridge of Athlone or a good old Scottish Strip – the – Willow from Orkney everyone can join in.
( Not to be confused with the more formal RSCDS or Reeling Dances which are for practised dancers only.) See also Scottish Ceilidh .
In our experience a three hour programme to include a half-hour interval is optimal. (Most clients favour 8-11). Long enough to build up to an exciting crescendo. Not so long as to tire everyone out!
The serious part.
